Open Access Week 2014 - Day one

Day one of Open Access Week was a huge success!
The University Librarian (Dr. Stephen Akintunde) took the opening remarks while the Vice Chancellor (Prof Hayward Mafuyai) declared the week open.

Other important dignitaries such as the ICT Director were there.
The following seminar papers were presented during the first session:
  •  Overview of Open Access Movement
  • Institutional Repository and Self Archiving
  • Unijos Library e-resources

The second session witnessed the following seminar presentations:
  • Open e-book publishing tools
  • Bridging the learning divide through OERs and MOOC
  •  Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) Module in the University of Jos KOHA ILS
  •  Citation and Referencing Made easy tools
It was indeed a very successful Open Access Day!
We expect to meet with the students the following day (October 21, 2014), we believe it will also be fruitful.
